REbuild
Along with my Imaginarium Co-conspirator Hayley Jeffrey we created the REbuild installation at Capital E. This was set up around ANZAC day so our idea was to reference the original 'adventure playgrounds' which popped up around bombed regions in Europe where children were using the rubble to create new structures and play in them.
Our 'bombed out building' was a free for all, where children could manipulate the spaces as they wished. They could add to, take away, paint, draw, rip, scribble, take apart or explore as they pleased. This was an incredible opportunity for the kids where there were no rules (other than be safe of course).
Where else can you peel off the wallpaper? plant something in the toilet? paint the kitchen sink or climb inside the fireplace? The kids loved it! as did the adults.
